The Protocol
THE MR. BYE BYE PROTOCOL
Hair restoration takes time. Consistency matters.
Read the complete Root Authority manual before your first treatment.
Select men or women in the scale section below to view your scale before downloading. The complete 6-page PDF includes both scales and all protocol steps.
01
Are You a Candidate?
Use the Norwood Scale for men and the Ludwig Scale for women to see where your hair loss may fall.

Stages 1–2
Little to early hair loss. Stage 2 is a great time to start supporting your scalp and follicles.
Stages 3–5
Noticeable recession, thinning, or crown loss. This is an ideal time to begin consistent treatment.
Stages 6–7
Advanced hair loss. Treatment may still be worth trying, but results may be more limited, especially in areas that have been completely bald for a long time.
Important:These scales are visual guides only. They do not determine whether a follicle can produce new hair, and results will vary.
02
Root Authority: Before You Begin
01
Read the Manual
Read the Root Authority manual completely before your first use.
02
Clean Everything
Wash and dry your:
Begin with a clean scalp free from styling products, oils and fragranced products.
03
Prepare Your Needle
Select one new, single-use needle and fill the reservoir with Crown Boost. Never reuse a needle.
04
Retaining Ring
Clean the retaining ring thoroughly before every use of the machine.
Securely attach the retaining ring before installing or operating the needle.
Never operate without the retaining ring in place.
03
Your Settings
Flow Regulator
1–2
Set the serum flow to 1–2.
Avoid setting 3. This may dispense Crown Boost too rapidly.
Device Opening
Half / Full
Sensitive Scalp: Half Open.
Most Users: Full Open.
Speed
4–5
Recommended speed: 4–5. If you have a particularly sensitive scalp, you may operate at a slower speed.
04
Treatment Pattern
Work slowly and methodically through the areas of concern.
Pass One
Move in straight lines: Front → Back or Back → Front. Gradually work across the entire treatment area.
Pass Two
Change direction: Left → Right or Right → Left. Again, move slowly across the treatment area.
Optional: Small Circles
You may also work using small, controlled circular motions. Be careful when treating areas with longer existing hair, as hair may become caught during circular movements.
When finished
Remove and discard the needle.
ONE NEEDLE. ONE TREATMENT. ONE USE.
Never clean, save or reuse a used needle.
05
The First 72 Hours
Mild temporary scalp sensitivity may occur after treatment and can last for up to approximately 3 days.
During the first 72 hours: Avoid
- Direct or prolonged sun exposure
- Fragranced scalp or hair products
- Excessive sweating
- Products that irritate the treated scalp
Copper Peptide Mist
Spray the treated areas with Copper Peptide Mist 2–3× daily for the first 72 hours. This helps support hydration and the post-treatment scalp environment.
Crown Boost
Crown Boost may also be applied directly to the treated areas between sessions. Keep in mind that using Crown Boost between Root Authority treatments will increase product usage, meaning you may need to replenish your serum sooner than the typical 4-month average.
06
Your Treatment Schedule
EVERY 10–14 DAYS
Repeat your Root Authority scalp treatment approximately every 10–14 days. Consistency is more important than trying to accelerate the process. Hair growth is a lengthy biological process.
Expect to commit for:
Minimum
4 Months
Common Commitment
6–12 Months
Think of Root Authority as an ongoing investment into your scalp and hair environment—not a one-time treatment. Your individual timeline will vary.
07
Maintenance
Once you have reached your desired result, don't simply stop supporting your scalp.
Maintenance Protocol
1 Root Authority Treatment Every 6-8 Weeks
Regular maintenance is recommended to continue supporting the scalp and follicles after reaching your goal.
08
Add Follicle Defense
Root Authority works from the outside in.
Follicle Defense works from the inside out.

Scalp + Follicle Nutrition
Zinc, Copper, Vitamin D3 and other nutrients help support normal follicle and scalp function.
Antioxidant Support
Green Tea, Vitamin C and Tocotrienols help provide antioxidant support against oxidative stress.
Skin + Nail Support
Several nutrients in Follicle Defense—including Biotin, Zinc, Vitamin C and amino acids—also support healthy skin and nails.

Shop the Complete SystemIndividual results vary. The Norwood and Ludwig scales are visual classification systems and are not diagnostic tools. Do not use Root Authority over an infected, inflamed, injured or otherwise compromised scalp. Discontinue use and seek medical guidance if you experience severe, persistent or unexpected irritation. Consult your healthcare professional before using dietary supplements if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications or have a medical condition.
